[12:17]  1 tn Here ἄνθρωπος (anqrwpo") is used as a generic and refers to both men and women.

[12:1]  2 tn Grk “brothers.” See note on the phrase “brothers and sisters” in 1:13.

[12:1]  3 tn The participle and two adjectives “alive, holy, and pleasing to God” are taken as predicates in relation to “sacrifice,” making the exhortation more emphatic. See ExSyn 618-19.

[3:9]  3 tn Grk “not returning…but blessing,” continuing the sense of command from the preceding.

[3:9]  4 tn The direct object “others” is omitted but implied in Greek, and must be supplied to suit English style.
