Yesaya 3:9

3:9 The look on their faces ¹  testifies to their guilt; ² 

like the people of Sodom they openly boast of their sin. ³ 

Too bad for them! ⁴ 

For they bring disaster on themselves.

Yesaya 24:20

24:20 The earth will stagger around ⁵  like a drunk;

it will sway back and forth like a hut in a windstorm. ⁶ 

Its sin will weigh it down,

and it will fall and never get up again.

Yesaya 40:2

40:2 “Speak kindly to ⁷  Jerusalem, ⁸  and tell her

that her time of warfare is over, ⁹ 

that her punishment is completed. ¹⁰ 

For the Lord has made her pay double ¹¹  for all her sins.”

[24:20]  ⁵ tn Heb “staggering, staggers.” The Hebrew text uses the infinitive absolute before the finite verb for emphasis and sound play.

[40:2]  ¹¹ tn Heb “for she has received from the hand of the Lord double.” The principle of the double portion in punishment is also seen in Jer 16:18; 17:18 and Rev 18:6.
