Hezekiah Observes the Passover

30:1 Hezekiah sent messages throughout Israel and Judah; he even wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh, summoning them to come to the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem ¹  and observe a Passover celebration for the Lord God of Israel.

2 Tawarikh 30:10-11

30:10 The messengers journeyed from city to city through the land of Ephraim and Manasseh as far as Zebulun, but people mocked and ridiculed them. ²  30:11 But some men from Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

2 Tawarikh 31:1-2

31:1 When all this was over, the Israelites ³  who were in the cities of Judah went out and smashed the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and demolished ⁴  all the high places and altars throughout Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. ⁵  Then all the Israelites returned to their own homes in their cities. ⁶ 

The People Contribute to the Temple

31:2 Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and Levites to do their assigned tasks ⁷  – to offer burnt sacrifices and present offerings and to serve, give thanks, and offer praise in the gates of the Lord’s sanctuary. ⁸ 

Kisah Para Rasul 23:15-20

23:15 So now you and the council ⁹  request the commanding officer ¹⁰  to bring him down to you, as if you were going to determine ¹¹  his case ¹²  by conducting a more thorough inquiry. ¹³  We are ready to kill him ¹⁴  before he comes near this place.” ¹⁵ 

23:16 But when the son of Paul’s sister heard about the ambush, ¹⁶  he came and entered ¹⁷  the barracks ¹⁸  and told Paul. 23:17 Paul called ¹⁹  one of the centurions ²⁰  and said, “Take this young man to the commanding officer, ²¹  for he has something to report to him.” 23:18 So the centurion ²²  took him and brought him to the commanding officer ²³  and said, “The prisoner Paul called ²⁴  me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.” 23:19 The commanding officer ²⁵  took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, “What is it that you want ²⁶  to report to me?” 23:20 He replied, ²⁷  “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council ²⁸  tomorrow, as if they were going to inquire more thoroughly about him.
