[2:25]  1 tn Or “always before me.”

[4:17]  2 tn Or “speak no longer.”

[6:2]  3 sn The twelve refers to the twelve apostles.

[6:2]  4 tn Grk “calling the whole group…together, said.” The participle προσκαλεσάμενοι (proskalesamenoi) has been translated as a finite verb due to requirements of contemporary English style.

[6:2]  5 tn Or “the multitude.”

[6:2]  6 tn Grk “to serve tables.”

[13:10]  7 tn Or “unscrupulousness.”

[13:10]  8 sn “You who…paths of the Lord?” This rebuke is like ones from the OT prophets: Jer 5:27; Gen 32:11; Prov 10:7; Hos 14:9. Five separate remarks indicate the magician’s failings. The closing rhetorical question of v. 10 (“will you not stop…?”) shows how opposed he is to the way of God.

[15:24]  9 tn Here BDAG 990-91 s.v. ταράσσω 2 states, “Of mental confusion caused by false teachings ταρ. τινά Ac 15:24 (w. λόγοις foll.).”

[15:24]  10 tn BDAG 71 s.v. ἀνασκευάζω describes this verb with a figurative meaning: “to cause inward distress, upset, unsettle.”

[15:24]  11 tn Grk “souls.”

[15:24]  12 tn Grk “by words”; L&N 25.231 translates the phrase “they troubled and upset you by what they said.”

[17:29]  13 tn Or “the divine being.” BDAG 446 s.v. θεῖος 1.b has “divine being, divinity” here.

[17:29]  14 tn Or “a likeness.” Again idolatry is directly attacked as an affront to God and a devaluation of him.

[17:29]  15 tn Grk “by the skill and imagination of man,” but ἀνθρώπου (anqrwpou) has been translated as an attributive genitive.

[17:29]  16 tn Or “craftsmanship” (cf. BDAG 1001 s.v. τέχνη).

[17:29]  17 tn Or “thought.” BDAG 336 s.v. ἐνθύμησις has “thought, reflection, idea” as the category of meaning here, but in terms of creativity (as in the context) the imaginative faculty is in view.
