Konteks

3:20 “When a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I set an obstacle 1  before him, he will die. If you have not warned him, he will die for his sin. The righteous deeds he performed will not be considered, but I will hold you accountable for his death.

Yehezkiel 4:14

Konteks

4:14 And I said, “Ah, sovereign Lord, I have never been ceremonially defiled before. I have never eaten a carcass or an animal torn by wild beasts; from my youth up, unclean meat 2  has never entered my mouth.”

Yehezkiel 7:26

Yehezkiel 13:9

Konteks
13:9 My hand will be against the prophets who see delusion and announce lying omens. They will not be included in the council 3  of my people, nor be written in the registry 4  of the house of Israel, nor enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the sovereign Lord.

Yehezkiel 14:6

Yehezkiel 16:27

Konteks
16:27 So see here, I have stretched out my hand against you and cut off your rations. I have delivered you into the power of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed by your obscene conduct.

Yehezkiel 16:43

Konteks

16:43 “‘Because you did not remember the days of your youth and have enraged me with all these deeds, I hereby repay you for what you have done, 6  declares the sovereign Lord. Have you not engaged in prostitution on top of all your other abominable practices?

Yehezkiel 17:15

Konteks
17:15 But this one from Israel’s royal family 7  rebelled against the king of Babylon 8  by sending his emissaries to Egypt to obtain horses and a large army. Will he prosper? Will the one doing these things escape? Can he break the covenant and escape?

Yehezkiel 21:24

Konteks

21:24 “Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘Because you have brought up 9  your own guilt by uncovering your transgressions and revealing your sins through all your actions, for this reason you will be taken by force. 10

the time of final punishment.

Yehezkiel 25:13-14

Konteks
25:13 So this is what the sovereign Lord says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom, and I will kill the people and animals within her, 14  and I will make her desolate; from Teman to Dedan they will die 15  by the sword. 25:14 I will exact my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will carry out in Edom my anger and rage; they will experience 16  my vengeance, declares the sovereign Lord.’”

Yehezkiel 33:12

Konteks

33:12 “And you, son of man, say to your people, 17  ‘The righteousness of the righteous will not deliver him if he rebels. 18  As for the wicked, his wickedness will not make him stumble if he turns from it. 19  The righteous will not be able to live by his righteousness 20  if he sins.’ 21

Yehezkiel 34:16

Konteks

Yehezkiel 36:5

Yehezkiel 38:8

Konteks
38:8 After many days you will be summoned; in the latter years you will come to a land restored from the ravages of war, 22  with many peoples gathered on the mountains of Israel that had long been in ruins. Its people 23  were brought out from the peoples, and all of them will be living securely.

Yehezkiel 44:13

Konteks
44:13 They will not come near me to serve me as priest, nor will they come near any of my holy things, the things which are most sacred. They will bear the shame of the abominable deeds they have committed.

[3:20]  1 tn Or “stumbling block.” The Hebrew term refers to an obstacle in the road in Lev 19:14.

[4:14]  2 tn The Hebrew term refers to sacrificial meat not eaten by the appropriate time (Lev 7:18; 19:7).

[13:9]  3 tn The Hebrew term may refer to the secret council of the Lord (Jer 23:18; Job 15:8), but here it more likely refers to a human council comprised of civic leaders (Gen 49:6; Jer 6:11; 15:17 Ps 64:3; 111:1).

[13:9]  4 tn The reference here is probably to a civil list (as in Ezra 2:16; Neh 7:64) rather than to a “book of life” (Exod 32:32; Isa 4:3; Ps 69:29; Dan 12:1). This registry may have been established at the making of David’s census (2 Sam 24:2, 9).

[14:13]  5 tn Heb “break its staff of bread.”

[16:43]  6 tn Heb “your way on (your) head I have placed.”

[17:15]  7 tn Heb “he”; the referent (the member of the royal family, v. 13) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[17:15]  8 tn Heb “him”; the referent (the king of Babylon) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[21:24]  9 tn Heb “caused to be remembered.”

[21:24]  10 tn Heb “Because you have brought to remembrance your guilt when your transgressions are uncovered so that your sins are revealed in all your deeds – because you are remembered, by the hand you will be seized.”

[21:29]  11 tn Heb “in the seeing concerning you falsehood, in divining concerning you a lie.” This probably refers to the attempts of the Ammonites to ward off judgment through prophetic visions and divination.

[21:29]  12 tn Heb “you”; the referent (the sword mentioned in v. 28) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[21:29]  13 sn The second half of the verse appears to state that the sword of judgment would fall upon the wicked, despite their efforts to prevent it.

[25:13]  14 tn Heb “and I will cut off from her man and beast.”

[25:13]  15 tn Heb “fall.”

[25:14]  16 tn Heb “know.”

[33:12]  17 tn Heb “the sons of your people.”

[33:12]  18 tn Heb “in the day of his rebellion.” The statement envisions a godly person rejecting what is good and becoming sinful. See D. I. Block, Ezekiel (NICOT), 2:247-48.

[33:12]  19 tn Heb “and the wickedness of the wicked, he will not stumble in it in the day of his turning from his wickedness.”

[33:12]  20 tn Heb “by it.”

[33:12]  21 tn Heb “in the day of his sin.”
