[27:9]  1 tn Heb “do not hide your face from me.” The idiom “hide the face” can mean “ignore” (see Pss 10:11; 13:1; 51:9) or carry the stronger idea of “reject” (see Pss 30:7; 88:14).

[27:9]  2 tn Or “[source of] help.”

[79:1]  3 sn Psalm 79. The author laments how the invading nations have destroyed the temple and city of Jerusalem. He asks God to forgive his people and to pour out his vengeance on those who have mistreated them.

[79:1]  4 tn Or “nations.”

[79:1]  5 tn Heb “have come into your inheritance.”

[79:10]  7 tn Heb “may it be known among the nations, to our eyes, the vengeance of the shed blood of your servants.”

[95:7]  8 tn Heb “of his hand.”

[95:7]  9 tn Heb “if only you would listen to his voice.” The Hebrew particle אִם (’im, “if”) and following prefixed verbal form here express a wish (cf. Ps 81:8). Note that the apodosis (the “then” clause of the conditional sentence) is suppressed.
