Do Not Judge

7:1 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. ¹ 

Matius 12:41

12:41 The people ²  of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented when Jonah preached to them ³  – and now, ⁴  something greater than Jonah is here!

[7:1]  ¹ sn The point of the statement do not judge so that you will not be judged is that the standards we apply to others God applies to us. The passive verbs in this verse look to God’s action.

[12:41]  ² tn Grk “men”; the word here (ἀνήρ, anhr) usually indicates males or husbands, but occasionally is used in a generic sense of people in general, as here (cf. BDAG 79 s.v. 1.a, 2).
