Lukas 17:29

17:29 but on the day Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ¹ 

Lukas 23:5

23:5 But they persisted ²  in saying, “He incites ³  the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!” ⁴ 

[17:29]  ¹ sn And destroyed them all. The coming of the Son of Man will be like the judgment on Sodom, one of the most immoral places of the OT (Gen 19:16-17; Deut 32:32-33; Isa 1:10).

[23:5]  ³ sn He incites the people. The Jewish leadership claimed that Jesus was a political threat and had to be stopped. By reiterating this charge of stirring up rebellion, they pressured Pilate to act, or be accused of overlooking political threats to Rome.

[23:5]  ⁴ tn Grk “beginning from Galilee until here.”
