12:1 Meanwhile, ⁴  when many thousands of the crowd had gathered so that they were trampling on one another, Jesus ⁵  began to speak first to his disciples, “Be on your guard against ⁶  the yeast of the Pharisees, ⁷  which is hypocrisy. ⁸

[10:35]  sn The two silver coins were denarii. A denarius was a silver coin worth about a day’s pay for a laborer; this would be an amount worth about two days’ pay.

[10:35]  ³ tn Grk “when I come back”; the words “this way” are part of an English idiom used to translate the phrase.

[12:1]  ⁴ tn The phrase ἐν οἷς (en Jois) can be translated “meanwhile.”
