Konteks9:13 But Ananias replied, 2 “Lord, I have heard from many people 3 about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem, 9:14 and here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison 4 all who call on your name!” 5 9:15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, because this man is my chosen instrument 6 to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel. 7 9:16 For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.” 8

[9:13] 2 sn Ananias replied. Past events might have suggested to Ananias that this was not good counsel, but like Peter in Acts 10, Ananias’ intuitions were wrong.

[9:14] 5 sn The expression “those who call on your name” is a frequent description of believers (Acts 2:21; 1 Cor 1:2; Rom 10:13).
