5:25 But someone came and reported to them, “Look! The men you put in prison are standing in the temple courts ¹  and teaching ²  the people!”

24:12 They did not find me arguing ³  with anyone or stirring up a crowd ⁴  in the temple courts ⁵  or in the synagogues ⁶  or throughout the city, ⁷ 

[5:25]  ¹ tn Grk “the temple.” This is actually a reference to the courts surrounding the temple proper, and has been translated accordingly.

[5:25]  ² sn Obeying God (see v. 29), the apostles were teaching again (4:18-20; 5:20). They did so despite the risk.

[24:12]  ³ tn Or “disputing,” “conducting a heated discussion.”

[24:12]  ⁴ tn BDAG 381 s.v. ἐπίστασις 2 has “ἐ. ποιεῖν ὄχλου to cause a crowd to gather Ac 24:12.” Roman authorities would not allow a mob to gather and threaten the peace, and anyone suspected of instigating a mob would certainly be arrested.
