[2:11]  ² tn Or “God’s mighty works.” Here the genitive τοῦ θεοῦ (tou qeou) has been translated as a subjective genitive.

[8:40]  ⁴ sn Azotus was a city on the coast of southern Palestine, known as Ashdod in OT times.

[8:40]  ⁵ tn The words “the area” are not in the Greek text but are implied.

[13:29]  ¹² tn Grk “tree,” but frequently figurative for a cross. The allusion is to Deut 21:23. See Acts 5:30; 10:39.

[13:29]  ¹³ tn The word “him” is not in the Greek text but is implied. Direct objects were often omitted in Greek when clear from the context, but must be supplied for the modern English reader.
