Judges 13:24

13:24 Manoah’s wife ¹  gave birth to a son and named him Samson. ²  The child grew and the Lord empowered ³  him.

Luke 2:52

2:52 And Jesus increased ⁴  in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and with people.

[13:24]  ¹ tn Heb “the woman.” For clarity this has been specified in the translation as “Manoah’s wife.”

[13:24]  ² tn The name appears to mean “sun-like” or “solar.”

[13:24]  ³ tn Traditionally, “blessed.”

[2:52]  ⁴ tn Or “kept increasing.” The imperfect tense suggests something of a progressive force to the verb.
