Hakim-hakim 1:33

1:33 The men of Naphtali did not conquer the people living in Beth Shemesh or Beth Anath. ¹  They live among the Canaanites residing in the land. The Canaanites ²  living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath were forced to do hard labor for them.

Hakim-hakim 2:17-18

2:17 But they did not obey ³  their leaders. Instead they prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped ⁴  them. They quickly turned aside from the path ⁵  their ancestors ⁶  had walked. Their ancestors had obeyed the Lord’s commands, but they did not. ⁷  2:18 When the Lord raised up leaders for them, the Lord was with each leader and delivered the people ⁸  from their enemies while the leader remained alive. The Lord felt sorry for them ⁹  when they cried out in agony because of what their harsh oppressors did to them. ¹⁰ 

Hakim-hakim 7:8

7:8 The men ¹¹  who were chosen ¹²  took supplies ¹³  and their trumpets. Gideon ¹⁴  sent all the men of Israel back to their homes; ¹⁵  he kept only three hundred men. Now the Midianites ¹⁶  were camped down below ¹⁷  in the valley.

The Lord’s Patience Runs Short

10:6 The Israelites again did evil in the Lord’s sight. ¹⁸  They worshiped ¹⁹  the Baals and the Ashtars, ²⁰  as well as the gods of Syria, Sidon, ²¹  Moab, the Ammonites, and the Philistines. ²²  They abandoned the Lord and did not worship ²³  him.

Hakim-hakim 11:26

11:26 Israel has been living in Heshbon and its nearby towns, in Aroer and its nearby towns, and in all the cities along the Arnon for three hundred years! Why did you not reclaim them during that time?

Hakim-hakim 14:6

14:6 The Lord’s spirit empowered ²⁴  him and he tore the lion ²⁵  in two with his bare hands ²⁶  as easily as one would tear a young goat. But he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.

19:22 They were having a good time, ²⁷  when suddenly ²⁸  some men of the city, some good-for-nothings, ²⁹  surrounded the house and kept beating ³⁰  on the door. They said to the old man who owned the house, “Send out the man who came to visit you so we can have sex with him.” ³¹

19:25 The men refused to listen to him, so the Levite ³²  grabbed his concubine and made her go outside. ³³  They raped ³⁴  her and abused her all night long until morning. They let her go at dawn.
