Ezra 1:7

1:7 Then King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the Lord’s temple which Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem and had displayed ¹  in the temple of his gods.

Ezra 2:68

2:68 When they came to the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, some of the family leaders ²  offered voluntary offerings for the temple of God in order to rebuild ³  it on its site.

Ezra 4:13

4:13 Let the king also be aware that if this city is built and its walls are completed, no more tax, custom, or toll will be paid, and the royal treasury ⁴  will suffer loss.

Ezra 4:16

4:16 We therefore are informing the king that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, you will not retain control ⁵  of this portion of Trans-Euphrates.”

Ezra 5:2

5:2 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak began ⁶  to rebuild the temple of God in Jerusalem. The prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Ezra 7:7

7:7 In the seventh year of King Artaxerxes, Ezra brought ⁷  up to Jerusalem ⁸  some of the Israelites and some of the priests, the Levites, the attendants, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants.

Ezra 8:20

8:20 and some of the temple servants that David and his officials had established for the work of the Levites – 220 of them. They were all designated by name.

Ezra 8:26

8:26 I weighed out to them ⁹  650 talents of silver, silver vessels worth 100 talents, ¹⁰  100 talents of gold,

Ezra 8:28-29

8:28 Then I said to them, “You are holy to the Lord, just as these vessels are holy. The silver and the gold are a voluntary offering to the Lord, the God of your fathers. 8:29 Be careful with them and protect them, until you weigh them out before the leading priests and the Levites and the family leaders of Israel in Jerusalem, ¹¹  in the storerooms of the temple of the Lord.”

Ezra 10:10

10:10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, “You have behaved in an unfaithful manner by taking foreign wives! This has contributed to the guilt of Israel.

[2:68]  ³ tn Heb “cause it to stand.”

[4:13]  ⁴ tn Aram “the treasury of kings.” The plural “kings” is Hebrew, not Aramaic. If the plural is intended in a numerical sense the reference is not just to Artaxerxes but to his successors as well. Some scholars understand this to be the plural of majesty, referring to Artaxerxes. See F. C. Fensham, Ezra and Nehemiah (NICOT), 74.

[4:16]  ⁵ tn Aram “will not be to you.”

[5:2]  ⁶ tn Aram “arose and began.” For stylistic reasons this has been translated as a single concept.

[7:7]  ⁷ tc The translation reads the Hiphil singular וַיַּעֲל (vayya’al, “he [Ezra] brought up”) rather than the Qal plural וַיַּעַלוּ (vayya’alu, “they came up”) of the MT.
