[4:16]  2 tn Heb “I and my female attendants.” The translation reverses the order for stylistic reasons.

[4:16]  3 tn Heb “which is not according to the law” (so KJV, NASB); NAB “contrary to the law.”

[7:9]  4 sn Cf. 1:10, where Harbona is one of the seven eunuchs sent by the king to summon Queen Vashti to his banquet.

[7:9]  5 tn Heb “fifty cubits.” See the note on this expression in Esth 5:14.

[8:15]  6 tn Heb “shouted and rejoiced.” The expression is a hendiadys (see the note on 5:10 for an explanation of this figure).
