2 Tawarikh 6:41

2 Tawarikh 13:9

Konteks
13:9 But you banished 11  the Lord’s priests, Aaron’s descendants, and the Levites, and appointed your own priests just as the surrounding nations do! Anyone who comes to consecrate himself with a young bull or seven rams becomes a priest of these fake gods! 12

2 Tawarikh 13:12

Konteks

Konteks
21:13 but have instead followed in the footsteps of the kings of Israel. You encouraged the people of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem to be unfaithful to the Lord, just as the family of Ahab does in Israel. 20  You also killed your brothers, members of your father’s family, 21  who were better than you.

2 Tawarikh 23:8

Konteks

23:8 The Levites and all the men of Judah 22  did just as Jehoiada the priest ordered. Each of them took his men, those who were on duty during the Sabbath as well as those who were off duty on the Sabbath. Jehoiada the priest did not release his divisions from their duties.

29:25 King Hezekiah 25  stationed the Levites in the Lord’s temple with cymbals and stringed instruments, just as David, Gad the king’s prophet, 26  and Nathan the prophet had ordered. (The Lord had actually given these orders through his prophets.)

2 Tawarikh 34:21

Konteks
34:21 “Go, seek an oracle from 30  the Lord for me and those who remain in Israel and Judah. Find out about 31  the words of this scroll that has been discovered. For the Lord’s fury has been ignited against us, 32  because our ancestors 33  have not obeyed the word of the Lord by doing all that this scroll instructs!” 34

2 Tawarikh 34:31

Konteks
34:31 The king stood by his pillar 35  and renewed 36  the covenant before the Lord, agreeing to follow 37  the Lord and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being, 38  by carrying out the terms 39  of this covenant recorded on this scroll.

[2:8]  1 tn This is probably a variant name for almug trees; see 9:10-11 and the parallel passage in 1 Kgs 10:11-12; cf. NLT. One or the other probably arose through metathesis of letters.

[2:8]  2 tn Heb “know.”

[6:20]  3 tn Heb “so your eyes might be open toward this house night and day, toward the place about which you said, ‘My name will be there.’”

[6:20]  4 tn Heb “by listening to the prayer which your servant is praying concerning this place.”

[6:41]  5 tn Heb “be clothed with deliverance.”

[6:41]  6 tn Heb “and may your loyal ones rejoice in good.”

[9:12]  7 tn Heb “besides what she brought to the king.”

[9:12]  8 tn Heb “turned and went.”

[10:18]  9 sn In the parallel account in 1 Kgs 12:18 this name appears as “Adoniram.”

[10:18]  10 map For location see Map5 B1; Map6 F3; Map7 E2; Map8 F2; Map10 B3; JP1 F4; JP2 F4; JP3 F4; JP4 F4.

[13:9]  11 tn In the Hebrew text this is phrased as a rhetorical question, “Did you not banish?” The rhetorical question expects the answer, “Of course you did,” the force of which is reflected in the translation “But you banished.”

[13:9]  12 tn Heb “whoever comes to fill his hand with a bull of a son of cattle, and seven rams, and he is a priest to no-gods.”

[13:12]  13 tn Heb “and his priests and the trumpets of the war alarm [are ready] to sound out against you.”

[13:12]  14 tn Heb “fathers” (also in v. 18).

[16:14]  15 sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.

[16:14]  16 tn Heb “and they burned for him a large fire, very great.”

[20:7]  17 tn Heb “did you not drive out?” This is another rhetorical question which expects a positive response; see the note on the word “heaven” in the previous verse.

[20:7]  18 tn Heb “permanently.”

[20:7]  19 tn Or perhaps “your covenantal partner.” See Isa 41:8.

[21:13]  20 tn Heb “and you walked in the way of the kings of Israel and caused Judah and the residents of Jerusalem to commit adultery, like the house of Ahab causes to commit adultery.”

[21:13]  21 tn Heb “the house of your father.”

[23:8]  22 tn Heb “all Judah.” The words “the men of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” by metonymy for the men of Judah.

[29:12]  23 tn Heb “and the Levites arose.”

[29:24]  24 tn Heb “said.”

[29:25]  25 tn Heb “he”; the referent (King Hezekiah) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[29:25]  26 tn Or “seer.”

[29:31]  27 tn Heb “filled your hand.”

[29:31]  28 tn Or “tokens of thanks.”

[29:31]  29 tn Heb “and all who were willing of heart.”

[34:21]  30 tn Or “inquire of.”

[34:21]  31 tn Heb “concerning.”

[34:21]  32 tn Heb “for great is the anger of the Lord which has been ignited against us.”

[34:21]  33 tn Heb “fathers” (also in vv. 32, 33).

[34:21]  34 tn Heb “by doing according to all that is written on this scroll.”

[34:31]  35 tc This assumes an emendation to עַמּוּדוֹ (’ammudo), see 23:13. The MT reads “at his place.”

[34:31]  36 tn Heb “cut,” that is, “made” or “agreed to.”

[34:31]  37 tn Heb “walk after.”

[34:31]  38 tn Or “soul.”

[34:31]  39 tn Heb “words.”
