2:14 whose mother is a Danite and whose father is a Tyrian. ¹  He knows how to work with gold, silver, bronze, iron, stones, and wood, as well as purple, violet, white, and crimson fabrics. He knows how to do all kinds of engraving and understands any design given to him. He will work with your skilled craftsmen and the skilled craftsmen of my lord David your father.

6:33 Then listen from your heavenly dwelling place and answer all the prayers of the foreigners. ²  Then all the nations of the earth will acknowledge your reputation, ³  obey ⁴  you like your people Israel do, and recognize that this temple I built belongs to you. ⁵

Solomon Entertains a Queen

9:1 When the queen of Sheba heard about Solomon, ⁶  she came to challenge ⁷  him ⁸  with difficult questions. ⁹  She arrived in Jerusalem ¹⁰  with a great display of pomp, ¹¹  bringing with her camels carrying spices, ¹²  a very large quantity of gold, and precious gems. She visited Solomon and discussed with him everything that was on her mind.

28:9 Oded, a prophet of the Lord, was there. He went to meet the army as they arrived in Samaria and said to them: “Look, because the Lord God of your ancestors was angry with Judah he handed them over to you. You have killed them so mercilessly that God has taken notice. ¹³

31:1 When all this was over, the Israelites ¹⁴  who were in the cities of Judah went out and smashed the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and demolished ¹⁵  all the high places and altars throughout Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh. ¹⁶  Then all the Israelites returned to their own homes in their cities. ¹⁷
