21:10 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. ⁴  At that same time Libnah also rebelled and freed themselves from Judah’s control ⁵  because Jehoram ⁶  rejected the Lord God of his ancestors.

29:30 King Hezekiah and the officials told the Levites to praise the Lord, using the psalms ⁷  of David and Asaph the prophet. ⁸  So they joyfully offered praise and bowed down and worshiped.

[10:4]  ¹ tn Heb “made our yoke burdensome.”

[10:4]  ² tn Heb “but you, now, lighten the burdensome work of your father and the heavy yoke which he placed on us, and we will serve you.” In the Hebrew text the prefixed verbal form with vav (וְנַעַבְדֶךָ, vÿna’avdekha, “and we will serve you”) following the imperative (הָקֵל, haqel, “lighten”) indicates purpose/result. The conditional sentence used in the present translation is an attempt to bring out the logical relationship between these forms.
