10:23 Then Jehu and Jehonadab son of Rekab went to the temple of Baal. Jehu ²⁵  said to the servants of Baal, “Make sure there are no servants of the Lord here with you; there must be only servants of Baal.” ²⁶  10:24 They went inside to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had stationed eighty men outside. He had told them, “If any of the men inside get away, you will pay with your lives!” ²⁷

12:7 So King Jehoash summoned Jehoiada the priest along with the other priests, and said to them, “Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, take no more silver from your treasurers unless you intend to use it to repair the damage.” ³¹

17:6 In the ninth year of Hoshea’s reign, the king of Assyria captured Samaria and deported the people of Israel ⁴⁰  to Assyria. He settled them in Halah, along the Habor (the river of Gozan), and in the cities of the Medes.

23:2 The king went up to the Lord’s temple, accompanied by all the people of Judah, all the residents of Jerusalem, the priests, and the prophets. All the people were there, from the youngest to the oldest. He read aloud ⁵¹  all the words of the scroll of the covenant that had been discovered in the Lord’s temple. 23:3 The king stood by the pillar and renewed ⁵²  the covenant before the Lord, agreeing to follow ⁵³  the Lord and to obey his commandments, laws, and rules with all his heart and being, ⁵⁴  by carrying out the terms ⁵⁵  of this covenant recorded on this scroll. In either case, it may have been a temporary hideout, for v. 3 indicates that the child hid in the temple for six years.
