8:15 He said to me, “Do you see this, son of man? You will see even greater abominations than these!”

9:4 The Lord said to him, “Go through the city of Jerusalem ¹  and put a mark ²  on the foreheads of the people who moan and groan over all the abominations practiced in it.”

Yehezkiel 16:51

16:51 Samaria has not committed half the sins you have; you have done more abominable deeds than they did. ³  You have made your sisters appear righteous with all the abominable things you have done.

Yehezkiel 18:12-13

18:12 oppresses the poor and the needy, ⁴  commits robbery, does not give back what was given in pledge, prays to ⁵  idols, performs abominable acts, 18:13 engages in usury and charges interest. Will he live? He will not! Because he has done all these abominable deeds he will certainly die. ⁶  He will bear the responsibility for his own death. ⁷

[9:4]  ² tn The word translated “mark” is in Hebrew the letter ת (tav). Outside this context the only other occurrence of the word is in Job 31:35. In ancient Hebrew script this letter was written like the letter X.
