Ulangan 1:43

1:43 I spoke to you, but you did not listen. Instead you rebelled against the Lord ¹  and recklessly went up to the hill country.

Ulangan 8:19

8:19 Now if you forget the Lord your God at all ²  and follow other gods, worshiping and prostrating yourselves before them, I testify to you today that you will surely be annihilated.

Blessing on Judah

33:7 And this is the blessing ⁷  to Judah. He said,

Listen, O Lord, to Judah’s voice,

and bring him to his people.

May his power be great,

and may you help him against his foes.

[1:43]  ¹ tn Heb “the mouth of the Lord.” See note at 1:26.

[8:19]  ² tn Heb “if forgetting, you forget.” The infinitive absolute is used for emphasis; the translation indicates this with the words “at all” (cf. KJV).

[13:18]  ³ tn Heb “commanding” (so NASB, NRSV).

[13:18]  ⁴ tc The LXX and Smr add “and good” to bring the phrase in line with a familiar cliché (cf. Deut 6:18; Josh 9:25; 2 Kgs 10:3; 2 Chr 14:1; etc.). This is an unnecessary and improper attempt to force a text into a preconceived mold.

[13:18]  ⁵ tn Heb “in the eyes of the Lord your God.” See note on the word “him” in v. 3.

[31:13]  ⁶ tn The phrase “this law” is not in the Hebrew text, but English style requires an object for the verb here. Other translations also supply the object which is otherwise implicit (cf. NIV “who do not know this law”; TEV “who have never heard the Law of the Lord your God”).

[33:7]  ⁷ tn The words “the blessing” are supplied in the translation for clarity and stylistic reasons.
