[32:22]  1 tn The construction uses a perfect verb followed by the imperfect. This is a form of subordination equivalent to a complementary infinitive (see GKC 385-86 §120.c).

[32:22]  2 tn The words “if I did” are supplied in the translation to make sense out of the two clauses.

[32:22]  3 tn Heb “quickly carry me away.”

[36:3]  4 tn Heb “I will carry my knowledge to-from afar.” The expression means that he will give a wide range to knowledge, that he will speak comprehensively.

[36:3]  5 tn This line gives the essence of all of Elihu’s speech – to give or ascribe righteousness to God against the charges of Job. Dhorme translates this “I will justify my Maker,” and that is workable if it carries the meaning of “declaring to be right.”

[54:5]  6 tn Or “redeemer.” See the note at 41:14.

[54:5]  7 sn See the note on the phrase “the Holy One of Israel” in 1:4.
