Galatia 1:7

1:7 not that there really is another gospel, ¹  but ²  there are some who are disturbing you and wanting ³  to distort the gospel of Christ.

Galatia 5:16

5:16 But I say, live ⁴  by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh. ⁵

6:17 From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. ⁶ 

[1:7]  ¹ tn Grk “which is not another,” but this could be misunderstood to mean “which is not really different.” In fact, as Paul goes on to make clear, there is no other gospel than the one he preaches.

[5:16]  ⁴ tn Grk “walk” (a common NT idiom for how one conducts one’s life or how one behaves).

[6:17]  ⁶ tn Paul is probably referring to scars from wounds received in the service of Jesus, although the term στίγμα (stigma) may imply ownership and suggest these scars served as brands (L&N 8.55; 33.481; 90.84).
