2 Samuel 6:2
Konteks6:2 David and all the men who were with him traveled 1 to 2 Baalah 3 in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the name 4 of the Lord of hosts, who sits enthroned between the cherubim that are on it.
2 Samuel 13:15
Konteks13:15 Then Amnon greatly despised her. 5 His disdain toward her surpassed the love he had previously felt toward her. 6 Amnon said to her, “Get up and leave!”
2 Samuel 24:1
Konteks24:1 The Lord’s anger again raged against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go count Israel and Judah.” 7
[6:2] 1 tn Heb “arose and went.”
[6:2] 2 tn Heb “from,” but the following context indicates they traveled to this location.
[6:2] 3 tn This is another name for Kiriath-jearim (see 1 Chr 13:6).
[6:2] 4 tc The MT has here a double reference to the name (שֵׁם שֵׁם, shem shem). Many medieval Hebrew
[13:15] 5 tn Heb “and Amnon hated her with very great hatred.”
[13:15] 6 tn Heb “for greater was the hatred with which he hated her than the love with which he loved her.”
[24:1] 7 sn The parallel text in 1 Chr 21:1 says, “An adversary opposed Israel, inciting David to count how many warriors Israel had.” The Samuel version gives an underlying theological perspective, while the Chronicler simply describes what happened from a human perspective. The adversary in 1 Chr 21:1 is likely a human enemy, probably a nearby nation whose hostility against Israel pressured David into numbering the people so he could assess his military strength. See the note at 1 Chr 21:1.
