<p class="poetry">You are happy because you conquered Lo-Debar.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">You say, &#8220;Did we not conquer Karnaim<n id="2" /> by our own power?&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="poetry">Listen, you Israelites, to this message which the <sc>Lordsc> is proclaiming against<n id="1" /> you! This message is for the entire clan I brought up<n id="2" /> from the land of Egypt:

<p class="poetry">Certainly the sovereign <sc>Lordsc> does nothing without first revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.p>

So now listen to the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s message! You say, &#8216;Don&#8217;t prophesy against Israel! Don&#8217;t preach<n id="1" /> against the family of Isaac!&#8217;p>

<p class="poetry">People<n id="1" /> will stagger from sea to sea,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">and from the north around to the east.p> <p class="poetry">They will wander about looking for a revelation from<n id="3" /> the <sc>Lordsc>,p> <p class="poetry">but they will not find any.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;I sent against you a plague like one of the Egyptian plagues.<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">I killed your young men with the sword,p> <p class="poetry">along with the horses you had captured.p> <p class="poetry">I made the stench from the corpses<n id="2" /> rise up into your nostrils.p> <p class="poetry">Still you did not come back to me.&#8221;p> <p class="poetry">The <sc>Lordsc> is speaking!p>
