Then some of his disciples said to one another, “What is the meaning of what he is saying, 1 ‘In a little while you 2 will not see me; again after a little while, you 3 will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?” 4
Jesus could see 1 that they wanted to ask him about these things, 2 so 3 he said to them, “Are you asking 4 each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while you 5 will not see me; again after a little while, you 6 will see me’?
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased 1 to give you the kingdom.
Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.
But he denied it again. A short time later the bystanders again said to Peter, “You must be 1 one of them, because you are also a Galilean.”
In a little while 1 the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.
Each 1 of them was given a long white robe and they were told to rest for a little longer, until the full number was reached 2 of both their fellow servants 3 and their brothers who were going to be killed just as they had been.
The angel 1 then 2 threw him into the abyss and locked 3 and sealed it so that he could not deceive the nations until the one thousand years were finished. (After these things he must be released for a brief period of time.)
Jesus replied, 1 “The light is with you for a little while longer. 2 Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. 3 The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.
