and has a reputation for good works: as one who has raised children,<n id="1" /> practiced hospitality, washed the feet of the saints, helped those in distress &#8211; as one who has exhibited all kinds of good works.<n id="2" />

And we all agree,<n id="1" /> our religion contains amazing revelation:<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">He<n id="3" /> was revealed in the flesh,p> <p class="poetry">vindicated by the Spirit,<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">seen by angels,p> <p class="poetry">proclaimed among Gentiles,p> <p class="poetry">believed on in the world,p> <p class="poetry">taken up in glory.p>

If a believing woman<n id="1" /> has widows in her family,<n id="2" /> let her help them. The church should not be burdened, so that it may help the widows who are truly in need.<n id="3" />p>

For the love of money is the root<n id="1" /> of all evils.<n id="2" /> Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.p>

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, because she was fully deceived,<n id="1" /> fell into transgression.<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">This saying<n id="1" /> is trustworthy: &#8220;If someone aspires to the office of overseer,<n id="2" /> he desires a good work.&#8221;

And these also must be tested first and then let them serve as deacons if they are found blameless.

But do not accept younger widows on the list,<n id="1" /> because their passions may lead them away from Christ<n id="2" /> and they will desire to marry,

In this way they will save up<n id="1" /> a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation<n id="2" /> for the future and so lay hold of<n id="3" /> what is truly life.p>

But if someone does not provide for his own,<n id="1" /> especially his own family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.p>

<p class="bodytext">Those who are under the yoke as slaves<n id="1" /> must regard their own masters as deserving of full respect. This will prevent<n id="2" /> the name of God and Christian teaching<n id="3" /> from being discredited.<n id="4" />

Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.

A woman must learn<n id="1" /> quietly with all submissiveness.

For Adam was formed first and then Eve.

For it is sanctified by God&#8217;s word and by prayer.p>

But the one who lives for pleasure is dead even<n id="1" /> while she lives.

Reinforce<n id="1" /> these commands,<n id="2" /> so that they will be beyond reproach.

and so incur judgment for breaking their former pledge.<n id="1" />

For some have already wandered away to follow Satan.<n id="1" />

But those who have believing masters must not show them less respect<n id="1" /> because they are brothers. Instead they are to serve all the more, because those who benefit from their service are believers and dearly loved.<n id="2" />p><t /><p class="bodytext">Teach them and exhort them about these things.<n id="3" />
