<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="2" /> they journeyed from Elim, the entire company<n id="3" /> of Israelites came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their exodus<n id="4" /> from the land of Egypt.

When<n id="1" /> the hands of Moses became heavy,<n id="2" /> they took a stone and put it under him, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other,<n id="3" /> and so his hands were steady<n id="4" /> until the sun went down.

Then Jethro, Moses&#8217; father-in-law, brought<n id="1" /> a burnt offering and sacrifices for God,<n id="2" /> and Aaron and all the elders of Israel came to eat food<n id="3" /> with the father-in-law of Moses before God.p>

They will judge<n id="1" /> the people under normal circumstances,<n id="2" /> and every difficult case<n id="3" /> they will bring to you, but every small case<n id="4" /> they themselves will judge, so that<n id="5" /> you may make it easier for yourself,<n id="6" /> and they will bear the burden<n id="7" /> with you.

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;I am going to come<n id="1" /> to you in a dense cloud,<n id="2" /> so that the people may hear when I speak with you and so that they will always believe in you.&#8221;<n id="3" /> And Moses told the words of the people to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

Moses said to the people, &#8220;Do not fear, for God has come to test you,<n id="1" /> that the fear of him<n id="2" /> may be before you so that you do not<n id="3" /> sin.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">&#8216;You must make for me an altar made of earth,<n id="1" /> and you will sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings,<n id="2" /> your sheep and your cattle. In every place<n id="3" /> where I cause my name to be honored<n id="4" /> I will come to you and I will bless you.

<p class="bodytext">Moses came<n id="1" /> and told the people all the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s words<n id="2" /> and all the decisions. All the people answered together,<n id="3" /> &#8220;We are willing to do<n id="4" /> all the words that the <sc>Lordsc> has said,&#8221;

You are to hang this curtain under the clasps and bring the ark of the testimony in there behind the curtain.<n id="1" /> The curtain will make a division for you between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;You are to put the Urim and the Thummim<n id="1" /> into the breastpiece of decision; and they are to be over Aaron&#8217;s heart when he goes in before the <sc>Lordsc>. Aaron is to bear the decisions<n id="2" /> of the Israelites over his heart before the <sc>Lordsc> continually.p>

These must be on Aaron and his sons when they enter<n id="1" /> to the tent of meeting, or when they approach<n id="2" /> the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they bear no iniquity and die.<n id="3" /> It is to be a perpetual ordinance for him and for his descendants<n id="4" /> after him.<n id="5" />p>

But when Moses went in<n id="1" /> before the <sc>Lordsc> to speak with him, he would remove the veil until he came out.<n id="2" /> Then he would come out and tell the Israelites what he had been commanded.<n id="3" />

When the Israelites would see<n id="1" /> the face of Moses, that<n id="2" /> the skin of Moses&#8217; face shone, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with the <sc>Lordsc>.<n id="3" />p>

In all cases of illegal possessions,<n id="1" /> whether for an ox, a donkey, a sheep, a garment, or any kind of lost item, about which someone says &#8216;This belongs to me,&#8217;<n id="2" /> the matter of the two of them will come before the judges,<n id="3" /> and the one whom<n id="4" /> the judges declare guilty<n id="5" /> must repay double to his neighbor.
