If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, for you are the confirming sign<n id="1" /> of my apostleship in the Lord.

What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel I may offer the gospel free of charge, and so not make full use of my rights in the gospel.p>

just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit<n id="1" /> of many, so that they may be saved.

and those members we consider less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our unpresentable members are clothed with dignity,<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but I do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

If then I do not know the meaning of a language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me.

but in the church I want to speak five words with my mind to instruct others, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.p>

For I passed on to you as of first importance<n id="1" /> what I also received &#8211; that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

For this reason, I have sent Timothy to you, who is my dear and faithful son in the Lord. He will remind you of my ways in Christ,<n id="1" /> as I teach them everywhere in every church.

I say this as a concession, not as a command.

Do we not have the right to financial support?<n id="1" />

If others receive this right from you, are we not more deserving?p> <p class="bodytext">But we have not made use of this right. Instead we endure everything so that we may not be a hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
