Seven<n id="1" /> sons and three daughters were born to him.<n id="2" />

And he also had seven sons<n id="1" /> and three daughters.

<t /><p class="bodytext">So these three men refused to answer<n id="2" /> Job further, because he was righteous in his<n id="3" /> own eyes.

With Job&#8217;s<n id="1" /> three friends he was also angry, because they could not find<n id="2" /> an answer, and so declared Job guilty.<n id="3" />

But when Elihu saw<n id="1" /> that the three men had no further reply,<n id="2" /> he became very angry.p>

<t /><p class="poetry">&#8220;Indeed, God does all these things,p> <p class="poetry">twice, three times, in his dealings<n id="2" /> with a person,p>

<p class="bodytext">Now his sons used to go<n id="1" /> and hold<n id="2" /> a feast in the house of each one in turn,<n id="3" /> and they would send and invite<n id="4" /> their three<n id="5" /> sisters to eat and to drink with them.

His possessions<n id="1" /> included<n id="2" /> 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys; in addition he had a very great household.<n id="3" /> Thus he<n id="4" /> was the greatest of all the people in the east.<n id="5" />p>

<p class="bodytext">While this one was still speaking another messenger arrived and said, &#8220;The Chaldeans<n id="1" /> formed three bands and made a raid<n id="2" /> on the camels and carried them all away, and they killed the servants with the sword!<n id="3" /> And I &#8211; only I alone &#8211; escaped to tell you!&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">When Job&#8217;s three friends heard about all this calamity that had happened to him, each of them came from his own country<n id="2" /> &#8211; Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite.<n id="3" /> They met together<n id="4" /> to come to show sympathy<n id="5" /> for him and to console<n id="6" /> him.
