A GLOBAL ETHIC
The Declaration of the Parliament of the World's Religions
1. No new global order without a new global ethic
2. A fundamental demand: Every human being must be treated humanely
- "What you do not wish done to yourself, do not do to others" (Golden Rule)
3. Four irrevocable directives
- A culture of non-violence - "There is no survival for and respects for life: "You humanity without global shall not kill" - "Have peace!" respect for life!"
- A culture of tolerance and a - "There is no global peace life of truthfulness: "You without global justice!" shall not lie"- "Speak and act truthfully!"
- A culture of solidarity and a - "There is no global justice just economic order: "You without truthfulness and shall not steal" - "Deal humaneness!" honestly and fairly!"
- A culture of equal rights - "There is no authentic and partnership between humaneness without a living men and women? "You shall together in partnership!" not commit sexual immorality" - "Respect and love one another!"
