[2:4]  1 tn Heb “The woman took the two men and hid him.” The third masculine singular pronominal suffix on “hid” has to be a scribal error (see GKC §135.p).

[2:4]  2 tn Heb “the men came to me.” See the note on this phrase in v. 3.

[5:4]  3 tn Heb “All the people who went out from Egypt, the males, all the men of war, died in the desert in the way when they went out from Egypt.”

[6:17]  4 tn Or “dedicated to the Lord.”

[6:17]  sn To make the city set apart for the Lord would involve annihilating all the people and animals and placing its riches in the Lord’s treasury (vv. 19, 21, 24).

[6:17]  5 tn Heb “messengers.”

[9:27]  6 tn Heb “and Joshua made them in that day woodcutters and water carriers for the community, and for the altar of the Lord to this day at the place which he chooses.”

[18:4]  7 tn Heb “I will send them so they may arise and walk about in the land and describe it in writing according to their inheritance and come to me.”

[22:10]  8 tn Heb “and they went to Geliloth of the Jordan which is in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Reuben, the sons of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar near the Jordan, an altar great with respect to appearance.”

[23:4]  9 tn Heb “I have assigned by lots to you these remaining nations as an inheritance for your tribes.”

[23:4]  10 tn Heb “the Great Sea,” the typical designation for the Mediterranean Sea.

[23:4]  11 tn Heb “from the Jordan and all the nations which I cut off and the Great Sea [at] the place where the sun sets.” The relationship of the second half of the verse, which mentions nations already conquered, to the first half, which speaks of “remaining nations,” is difficult to understand.

[24:13]  12 tn Or perhaps, “for.”

[24:13]  13 tn The words “the produce of” are supplied for clarification.
