Yosua 1:9

1:9 I repeat, ¹  be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, ²  for I, the Lord your God, am with you in all you do.” ³

1:11 “Go through the camp and command the people, ‘Prepare your supplies, for within three days you will cross the Jordan River and begin the conquest of the land the Lord your God is ready to hand over to you.’” ⁴ 

Yosua 3:1

Israel Crosses the Jordan

3:1 Bright and early the next morning Joshua and the Israelites left Shittim and came to the Jordan. ⁵  They camped there before crossing the river. ⁶ 

Yosua 3:3

3:3 and commanded the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God ⁷  being carried by the Levitical priests, you must leave here ⁸  and walk ⁹  behind it.

Yosua 3:14

3:14 So when the people left their tents to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ¹⁰  ahead of them.

Yosua 3:17

3:17 The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan. All Israel crossed over on dry ground until the entire nation was on the other side. ¹¹ 

Yosua 4:5

4:5 Joshua told them, “Go in front of the ark of the Lord your God to the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to put a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the Israelite tribes.

Yosua 5:2

A New Generation is Circumcised

5:2 At that time the Lord told Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites once again.” ¹² 

Yosua 6:18

6:18 But be careful when you are setting apart the riches for the Lord. If you take any of it, you will make the Israelite camp subject to annihilation and cause a disaster. ¹³ 

Yosua 9:7

9:7 The men of Israel said to the Hivites, “Perhaps you live near us. ¹⁴  So how can we make a treaty with you?”

Yosua 9:9

9:9 They told him, “Your subjects ¹⁵  have come from a very distant land because of the reputation ¹⁶  of the Lord your God, for we have heard the news about all he did in Egypt ¹⁷ 

Yosua 9:16

9:16 Three days after they made the treaty with them, the Israelites found out they were from the local area and lived nearby. ¹⁸ 

Yosua 14:4

14:4 The descendants of Joseph were considered as two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim. The Levites were allotted no territory, though they were assigned cities in which to live, along with the grazing areas for their cattle and possessions. ¹⁹ 

Yosua 15:47

15:47 Ashdod with its surrounding towns and settlements, and Gaza with its surrounding towns and settlements, as far as the Stream of Egypt ²⁰  and the border at the Mediterranean Sea. ²¹ 

Yosua 16:8

16:8 From Tappuah it went westward to the Valley of Kanah and ended at the sea. This is the land assigned to the tribe of Ephraim ²²  by its clans.

Yosua 17:7

17:7 The border of Manasseh went ²³  from Asher to Micmethath which is near ²⁴  Shechem. It then went south toward those who live in Tappuah.

Yosua 18:19

18:19 It then crossed to the slope of Beth Hoglah to the north and ended at the northern tip of the Salt Sea ²⁵  at the mouth of the Jordan River. ²⁶  This was the southern border.

Yosua 22:23

22:23 If we have built ²⁷  an altar for ourselves to turn back from following the Lord by making ²⁸  burnt sacrifices and grain offerings on it, or by offering ²⁹  tokens of peace ³⁰  on it, the Lord himself will punish us. ³¹ 

Yosua 22:26

22:26 So we decided to build this altar, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices,

22:34 The Reubenites and Gadites named the altar, “Surely it is a Reminder to us ³²  that the Lord is God.”
