Yosua 1:5

1:5 No one will be able to resist you ¹  all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not abandon you or leave you alone.

Yosua 2:5

2:5 When it was time to shut the city gate for the night, the men left. ²  I don’t know where they were heading. Chase after them quickly, for you have time to catch them!”

Yosua 23:10

23:10 One of you makes a thousand run away, ³  for the Lord your God fights for you ⁴  as he promised you he would. ⁵ 

[1:5]  ¹ tn Heb “A man will not stand before you.” The second person pronouns in this verse are singular, indicating Joshua is the addressee.

[2:5]  ² tn Heb “And the gate was to be shut in the darkness and the men went out.”

[23:10]  ³ tn Or “chases a thousand.”

[23:10]  ⁴ tn Heb “for the Lord your God, he [is] the one who fights for you.”

[23:10]  ⁵ tn Heb “as he said to you.”
