Yohanes 8:40

8:40 But now you are trying ¹  to kill me, a man who has told you ²  the truth I heard from God. Abraham did not do this! ³ 

Yohanes 16:15

16:15 Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit ⁴  will receive from me what is mine ⁵  and will tell it to you. ⁶

[8:40]  ² tn Grk “has spoken to you.”

[8:40]  ³ tn The Greek word order is emphatic: “This Abraham did not do.” The emphasis is indicated in the translation by an exclamation point.

[16:15]  ⁴ tn Grk “I said he”; the referent (the Spirit) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[16:15]  ⁵ tn The words “what is mine” are not in the Greek text, but are implied. Direct objects were often omitted in Greek when clear from the context.
