Yesaya 5:9

5:9 The Lord who commands armies told me this: ¹ 

“Many houses will certainly become desolate,

large, impressive houses will have no one living in them. ² 

Yesaya 19:14

19:14 The Lord has made them undiscerning; ³ 

they lead Egypt astray in all she does,

so that she is like a drunk sliding around in his own vomit. ⁴ 

Yesaya 57:17

57:17 I was angry because of their sinful greed;

I attacked them and angrily rejected them, ⁵ 

yet they remained disobedient and stubborn. ⁶

[57:17]  ⁵ tn Heb “and I struck him, hiding, and I was angry.” פָּנַיִם (panayim, “face”) is the implied object of “hiding.”
