Yesaya 5:5

5:5 Now I will inform you

what I am about to do to my vineyard:

I will remove its hedge and turn it into pasture, ¹ 

I will break its wall and allow animals to graze there. ² 

Yesaya 48:3

48:3 “I announced events beforehand, ³ 

I issued the decrees and made the predictions; ⁴ 

suddenly I acted and they came to pass.

[5:5]  ¹ tn Heb “and it will become [a place for] grazing.” בָּעַר (ba’ar, “grazing”) is a homonym of the more often used verb “to burn.”

[5:5]  ² tn Heb “and it will become a trampled place” (NASB “trampled ground”).

[48:3]  ³ tn Heb “the former things beforehand I declared.”

[48:3]  ⁴ tn Heb “and from my mouth they came forth and I caused them to be heard.”
