Yesaya 34:7

34:7 Wild oxen will be slaughtered ¹  along with them,

as well as strong bulls. ² 

Their land is drenched with blood,

their soil is covered with fat.

Yesaya 34:2

34:2 For the Lord is angry at all the nations

and furious with all their armies.

He will annihilate them and slaughter them.

Yesaya 63:6

Yehezkiel 5:17

5:17 I will send famine and wild beasts against you and they will take your children from you. ⁶  Plague and bloodshed will overwhelm you, ⁷  and I will bring a sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

[34:7]  ¹ tn Heb “will go down”; NAB “shall be struck down.”

[34:7]  ² tn Heb “and bulls along with strong ones.” Perhaps this refers to the leaders.

[1:22]  ³ tn The disjunctive clause is contrastive here. The words “with them” have been supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[63:6]  ⁵ tn Heb “and I brought down to the ground their juice.” “Juice” refers to their blood (see v. 3).

[5:17]  ⁶ tn Heb “will bereave you.”

[5:17]  ⁷ tn Heb “will pass through you.” This threat recalls the warning of Lev 26:22, 25 and Deut 32:24-25.
