Yesaya 18:3
Konteks18:3 All you who live in the world,
who reside on the earth,
you will see a signal flag raised on the mountains;
you will hear a trumpet being blown.
Yesaya 24:1
Konteks24:1 Look, the Lord is ready to devastate the earth
and leave it in ruins;
he will mar its surface
and scatter its inhabitants.
Yesaya 27:6
Konteks27:6 The time is coming when Jacob will take root; 1
Israel will blossom and grow branches.
The produce 2 will fill the surface of the world. 3
Yesaya 45:22
Konteks45:22 Turn to me so you can be delivered, 4
all you who live in the earth’s remote regions!
For I am God, and I have no peer.
[27:6] 1 tc The Hebrew text reads literally, “the coming ones, let Jacob take root.” הַבָּאִים (habba’im, “the coming ones”) should probably be emended to יָמִים בָאִים (yamim va’im, “days [are] coming”) or בְּיָמִים הַבָּאִים (biyamim habba’im, “in the coming days”).
[27:6] 2 tn Heb “fruit” (so KJV, NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV, NLT).
[27:6] 3 sn This apparently refers to a future population explosion. See 26:18.
[45:22] 4 tn The Niphal imperative with prefixed vav (ו) indicates purpose after the preceding imperative. The Niphal probably has a tolerative sense, “allow yourselves to be delivered, accept help.”
