[31:2] sn This refers to the remnant of northern Israel who had not been killed when Assyria conquered Israel in 722

[48:46] 3 tn Heb “Your sons will be taken away into captivity, your daughters into exile.”
[50:41] 4 sn A mighty nation and many kings is an allusion to the Medo-Persian empire and the vassal kings who provided forces for the Medo-Persian armies.
