TB NETBible YUN-IBR Ref. Silang Nama Gambar Himne

Yehezkiel 8:16

Konteks

8:16 Then he brought me to the inner court of the Lord’s house. Right there 1  at the entrance to the Lord’s temple, between the porch and the altar, 2  were about twenty-five 3  men with their backs to the Lord’s temple, 4  facing east – they were worshiping the sun 5  toward the east!

Yehezkiel 9:2

Konteks
9:2 Next, I noticed 6  six men 7  coming from the direction of the upper gate 8  which faces north, each with his war club in his hand. Among them was a man dressed in linen with a writing kit 9  at his side. They came and stood beside the bronze altar.

Yehezkiel 14:16

Konteks
14:16 Even if these three men were in it, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, they could not save their own sons or daughters; they would save only their own lives, and the land would become desolate.

Yehezkiel 14:22

Konteks
14:22 Yet some survivors will be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out. They will come out to you, and when you see their behavior and their deeds, you will be consoled about the catastrophe I have brought on Jerusalem – for everything I brought on it.

Yehezkiel 16:45

Konteks
16:45 You are the daughter of your mother, who detested her husband and her sons, and you are the sister of your sisters who detested their husbands and their sons. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

Yehezkiel 24:21

Konteks
24:21 Say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Realize I am about to desecrate my sanctuary – the source of your confident pride, 10  the object in which your eyes delight, 11  and your life’s passion. 12  Your very own sons and daughters whom you have left behind will die 13  by the sword.

Yehezkiel 46:19

Konteks

46:19 Then he brought me through the entrance, which was at the side of the gate, into the holy chambers for the priests which faced north. There I saw 14  a place at the extreme western end.

[8:16]  1 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates becoming aware of something.

[8:16]  2 sn The priests prayed to God between the porch and the altar on fast days (Joel 2:17). This is the location where Zechariah was murdered (Matt 23:35).

[8:16]  3 tc The LXX reads “twenty” instead of twenty-five, perhaps because of the association of the number twenty with the Mesopotamian sun god Shamash.

[8:16]  tn Or “exactly twenty-five.”

[8:16]  4 sn The temple faced east.

[8:16]  5 tn Or “the sun god.”

[8:16]  sn The worship of astral entities may have begun during the reign of Manasseh (2 Kgs 21:5).

[9:2]  6 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates becoming aware of something and has been translated here as a verb.

[9:2]  7 sn The six men plus the scribe would equal seven, which was believed by the Babylonians to be the number of planetary deities.

[9:2]  8 sn The upper gate was built by Jotham (2 Kgs 15:35).

[9:2]  9 tn Or “a scribe’s inkhorn.” The Hebrew term occurs in the OT only in Ezek 9 and is believed to be an Egyptian loanword.

[24:21]  10 tn Heb “the pride of your strength” means “your strong pride.”

[24:21]  11 sn Heb “the delight of your eyes.” Just as Ezekiel was deprived of his beloved wife (v. 16, the “desire” of his “eyes”) so the Lord would be forced to remove the object of his devotion, the temple, which symbolized his close relationship to his covenant people.

[24:21]  12 tn Heb “the object of compassion of your soul.” The accentuation in the traditional Hebrew text indicates that the descriptive phrases (“the source of your confident pride, the object in which your eyes delight, and your life’s passion”) modify the preceding “my sanctuary.”

[24:21]  13 tn Heb “fall.”

[46:19]  14 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates becoming aware of something and has been translated here as a verb.
