9:28 Otherwise the people of the land ¹  from which you brought us will say, “The Lord was unable to bring them to the land he promised them, and because of his hatred for them he has brought them out to kill them in the desert.” ²

13:5 As for that prophet or dreamer, ³  he must be executed because he encouraged rebellion against the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, redeeming you from that place of slavery, and because he has tried to entice you from the way the Lord your God has commanded you to go. In this way you must purge out evil from within. ⁴ 

Ulangan 31:20-21

31:20 For after I have brought them ⁵  to the land I promised to their ⁶  ancestors – one flowing with milk and honey – and they ⁷  eat their fill ⁸  and become fat, then they ⁹  will turn to other gods and worship them; they will reject me and break my covenant. 31:21 Then when ¹⁰  many disasters and distresses overcome them ¹¹  this song will testify against them, ¹²  for their ¹³  descendants will not forget it. ¹⁴  I know the ¹⁵  intentions they have in mind ¹⁶  today, even before I bring them ¹⁷  to the land I have promised.”

[9:28]  ¹ tc The MT reads only “the land.” Smr supplies עַם (’am, “people”) and LXX and its dependents supply “the inhabitants of the land.” The truncated form found in the MT is adequate to communicate the intended meaning; the words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity.
