[2:15] 1 tn Heb “from the middle of.” Although many recent English versions leave this expression untranslated, the point seems to be that these soldiers did not die in battle but “within the camp.”
[15:3] 2 tn Heb “your brother.”
[23:12] 3 tn Heb “so that one may go outside there.” This expression is euphemistic.
[25:16] 4 tn The Hebrew term translated here “abhorrent” (תּוֹעֵבָה, to’evah) speaks of attitudes and/or behaviors so vile as to be reprehensible to a holy God. See note on the word “abhorrent” in Deut 7:25.
