Nehemia 2:12

2:12 I got up during the night, along with a few men who were with me. But I did not tell anyone what my God was putting on my heart to do for Jerusalem. There were no animals with me, except for the one ¹  I was riding.

Nehemia 5:17

5:17 There were 150 Jews and officials who dined with me routinely, ²  in addition to those who came to us from the nations ³  all around us.

Nehemia 9:13-14

9:13 “You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven. You provided them with just judgments, true laws, and good statutes and commandments. 9:14 You made known to them your holy Sabbath; you issued commandments, statutes, and law to them through ⁴  Moses your servant.

Nehemia 13:2

13:2 for they had not met the Israelites with food ⁵  and water, but instead had hired Balaam to curse them. (Our God, however, turned the curse into blessing.)

[5:17]  ² tn Heb “who were gathered around us at my table.”

[5:17]  ³ tn Or “from the Gentiles.” The same Hebrew word can refer to “the Gentiles” or “the nations.” Cf. the phrase in 6:16.

[9:14]  ⁴ tn Heb “by the hand of.”

[13:2]  ⁵ tn Heb “bread.” The Hebrew term is generic here, however, referring to more than bread alone.
