Nehemia 10:38-39
Konteks10:38 A priest of Aaron’s line 1 will be with the Levites when the Levites collect the tithes, and the Levites will bring up a tenth of the tithes to the temple of our God, to the storerooms of the treasury. 10:39 The Israelites and the Levites will bring the contribution of the grain, the new wine, and the olive oil to the storerooms where the utensils of the sanctuary are kept, and where the priests who minister stay, along with the gatekeepers and the singers. We will not neglect the temple of our God.”
Nehemia 13:13
Konteks13:13 I gave instructions 2 that Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and a certain Levite named Pedaiah be put in charge of 3 the storerooms, and that Hanan son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah, be their assistant, 4 for they were regarded as trustworthy. It was then their responsibility to oversee the distribution to their colleagues. 5
[10:38] 1 tn Heb “And the priest the son of Aaron.”
[13:13] 2 tc Probably one should read with the Lucianic Greek recension, the Syriac Peshitta, and the Vulgate וָאֲצַוֶּה (va’atsavveh, “and I commanded”) rather than the rare denominative verb וָאוֹצְרָה (va’otsÿrah, “and I appointed over the storeroom”) of the MT.
