Nehemia 1:6

Konteks
1:6 may your ear be attentive and your eyes be open to hear the prayer of your servant that I am praying to you today throughout both day and night on behalf of your servants the Israelites. I am confessing the sins of the Israelites that we have committed 1  against you – both I myself and my family 2  have sinned.

Nehemia 9:25

Nehemia 10:28

Konteks

10:28 “Now the rest of the people – the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple attendants, and all those who have separated themselves from the neighboring peoples 4  because of the law of God, along with their wives, their sons, and their daughters, all of whom are able to understand –

[1:6]  1 tn Heb “have sinned.” For stylistic reasons – to avoid redundancy in English – this was translated as “committed.”

[1:6]  2 tn Heb “the house of my father.”

[9:25]  3 tn Heb “they ate and were sated.” This expression is a hendiadys. The first verb retains its full verbal sense, while the second functions adverbially: “they ate and were filled” = “they ate until they were full.”

[10:28]  4 tn Heb “from the peoples of the lands.” Cf. vv. 30, 31.
