• [Mzm 89:5] Great God Of Wonders

  Great God of wonders! All Thy ways Are matchless, Godlike and divine; But the fair glories of Thy grace More Godlike and unrivaled shine, More Godlike and unrivaled shine. Crimes of such horror to forgive, Such guilty, daring worms to spare; This is Thy grand prerogative, And none shall in the honor share, And none shall in the honor share Angels and men, resign your claim To pity, mercy, love and grace: These glories crown Jehovah’s Name With an incomparable glaze With an incomparable glaze. In wonder lost, with trembling joy, We take the pardon of our God: Pardon for crimes of deepest dye, A pardon bought with Jesus’ blood, A pardon bought with Jesus’ blood. O may this strange, this matchless grace, This Godlike miracle of love, Fill the whole earth with grateful praise, And all th’angelic choirs above, And all th’angelic choirs above. Who is a pardoning God like Thee? Or who has grace so rich and free? Or who has grace so rich and free?

  The praises of Thy wonders, Lord, The heavens shall express; And in the congregation Of saints Thy faithfulness. Thou hast an arm that’s full of power; Thy hand is great in might; And Thy right hand exceedingly Exalted is in height. Justice and judgment of Thy throne Are made the dwelling place; Mercy, accompanied with truth, Shall go before Thy face. O greatly blest the people are The joyful sound that know; In brightness of Thy face, O Lord, They ever on shall go. Because the glory of their strength Doth only stand in Thee; And in Thy favor shall our horn And power exalted be. For God is our defense; and He To us doth safety bring; The Holy One of Israel Is our almighty King.

• [Mzm 89:7] With Reverence Let The Saints Appear

  With reverence let the saints appear, And bow before the Lord; His high commands with reverence hear, And tremble at His Word. How terrible Thy glories be! How bright Thine armies shine! Where is the power that vies with Thee, Or truth compared to Thine? The northern pole and southern rest On Thy supporting hand; Darkness and day, from east to west, Move round at Thy command. Thy words the raging winds control, And rule the boisterous deep; Thou mak’st the sleeping billows roll, The rolling billows sleep. Heav’n, earth, and air, and sea, are Thine, And the dark world of hell; How did Thine arm in vengeance shine When Egypt durst [did] rebel! Justice and judgment are Thy throne, Yet wondrous is Thy grace; While truth and mercy, joined in one, Invite us near Thy face.
