18:50 He ¹  gives his chosen king magnificent victories; ² 

he is faithful ³  to his chosen ruler, ⁴ 

to David and his descendants ⁵  forever.” ⁶ 

Mazmur 73:28

73:28 But as for me, God’s presence is all I need. ⁷ 

I have made the sovereign Lord my shelter,

as ⁸  I declare all the things you have done.

Mazmur 101:2

101:2 I will walk in ⁹  the way of integrity.

When will you come to me?

I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace. ¹⁰ 

Mazmur 101:6

101:6 I will favor the honest people of the land, ¹¹ 

and allow them to live with me. ¹² 

Those who walk in the way of integrity will attend me. ¹³

[18:50]  ² tn Heb “magnifies the victories of his king.” “His king” refers to the psalmist, the Davidic king whom God has chosen to rule Israel.

[18:50]  ³ tn Heb “[the one who] does loyalty.”

[18:50]  ⁴ tn Heb “his anointed [one],” i.e., the psalmist/Davidic king. See Ps 2:2.

[18:50]  ⁵ tn Or “offspring”; Heb “seed.”

[18:50]  ⁶ sn If David is the author of the psalm (see the superscription), then he here anticipates that God will continue to demonstrate loyalty to his descendants who succeed him. If the author is a later Davidic king, then he views the divine favor he has experienced as the outworking of God’s faithful promises to David his ancestor.

[73:28]  ⁷ tn Heb “but as for me, the nearness of God for me [is] good.”

[73:28]  ⁸ tn The infinitive construct with -לְ (lÿ) is understood here as indicating an attendant circumstance. Another option is to take it as indicating purpose (“so that I might declare”) or result (“with the result that I declare”).
