[17:1]  1 sn Psalm 17. The psalmist asks God to intervene on his behalf because his life is threatened by dangerous enemies. He appeals to divine justice, for he is certain of his own innocence. Because he is innocent, he expects to encounter God and receive an assuring word.

[17:1]  2 tn Heb “hear, Lord, what is just.”

[17:1]  3 tn Heb “Listen to my prayer, [made] without lips of deceit.”

[50:10]  4 tn Heb “[the] animals on a thousand hills.” The words “that graze” are supplied in the translation for clarification. The term בְּהֵמוֹה (bÿhemot, “animal”) refers here to cattle (see Ps 104:14).

[138:8]  5 tn Heb “avenges on my behalf.” For the meaning “to avenge” for the verb גָּמַר (gamar), see HALOT 197-98 s.v. גמר.

[138:8]  6 tn Heb “the works of your hands.” Many medieval Hebrew mss read the singular, “work of your hands.”

[145:21]  7 tn Heb “the praise of the Lord my mouth will speak.”

[145:21]  8 tn Heb “all flesh.”
